About

The committee focusses on standards for the profession of data protection officers. The primary goal is to develop a professional code for data protection officers (EFDPO Professional Code).



How this Committee is organized

Committee meetings shall be initiated by the head of the committee and take place online once a month.

The Committee members are expected to actively participate by sharing ideas, knowledge and experience and help in writing the professional codee for DPOs.



The Committee shall

develop a professional code for DPOs that is based on the legal background, available guidelines (including EDPBs guidelines) and the practical implications and experience. It should then be continuously adapted to current legal and technical developments.

This orientation includes the following topics:

- Positioning of DPOs within controllers and processors
- Self-commitment of data protection officers to the professional code
- Examinations and certifications for data protection officers
- legal procedures regarding the profession
