EFDPO Membership

Creating a strong voice for our profession in Brussels

The EFDPO is an association that is focused on the concerns and interests of data protection officers and other professionals in the field of data protection. Our members are national associations (not individuals) that aim to create a strong voice for our profession in Brussels that is recognized as a partner at eye level by institutions such as the European Commission, the European Parliament, the Council of the European Union, the European Data Protection Board and national data protection authorities.

Benefits for your association and your members

Each national association contributes various benefits to the group (work aids, reduced fees for national congresses etc.) so that your members benefit from the strength of strong network of active associations.

  • mutual exchange of information and know-how

  • increased awareness for your association

  • training and quality standards developed by working groups within the association

  • opportunities for regular dialogue with supervisory authorities

  • joint events and conferences (reduced fees for the members of your association)

Annual membership fee
€ 4 / per (paying) member of the national association

Prerequisites

Any European association that meets the following requirements can apply for an effective membership:

  • It must be an association under the laws and customs of the country to which it belongs.
  • It must comply with the statutes and any other by-laws and decisions of the EFDPO.
  • It must defend the objectives and the activities of the EFDPO that are stated in the Statutes.

Associations from outside of Europe are invited to apply for an associate membership and benefit from all the activities of the EFDPO without the right to vote at the General Assembly nor to nominate candidates for the Board of Directors.

Trial associate Membership

€ 200 fixed annual membership fee

  • want to try the benefits of the growing EFDPO network?
  • new members can also opt for a trial associate membership
  • your association only pays a membership fee of € 200
  • benefit from all the activities of the EFDPO except the right to vote at the general assembly
  • after the trial period the annual fee is only € 4 per active member of your association

If your organization wants to join the EFDPO network please fill out the application form, sign it and fax or email it to our office.

The Board of Directors will decide about the admission of your application at the next board meeting.
