„Data Act – The most under-estimated piece of EU legislation”

When the EU Data Act, as a key pillar of the European data strategy, entered into force on January 11Th this year, the initial of a new development was set worldwide, but especially in Europe considering privacy and digital data. All data protection officers, data coordinators, lawyers and data protection affine persons are aware of this very unique progress, which introduces not only a call for action, but also enhances new opportunities.

With the free online workshop “Data act – the most under-estimated piece of EU legislation”, the EFDPO presents the 16th online workshop on current topics concerning privacy in Europe. On Monday, September 9, 2024 from 15:00 – 16:30 CET, several experts from the Czech Republic and Germany will discuss the importance of the Data Act and show that it is the perhaps most under-estimated piece of EU digital legislation.

BvD board member Dr. Christoph Bausewein will participate from Germany. Mgr. Jana Pattynová, committee member of the Czech Data Protection Association and partner at Pierstone will examine the Data Act and cloud services. Furthermore, Sven Jacobs will illuminate the Trade secret protection under the Data Act.
This workshop encourages the exchange of know-how across national borders. It is organized by our Czech member association “Spolek pro ochranu osobních údajů” and moderated by Mgr. Michal Nulíček, attorney at Rowan Legal.
