Review 3rd Training Seminar on the GDPR of the Private University and the Data Protection Association of Liechtenstein

Dec 6, 2021

On November 30, the 3rd training seminar on the GDPR took place online. At the beginning of the event, the results of a survey on the implementation of the GDPR among data protection associations in Switzerland, Austria and Liechtenstein were presented.

Information was also provided on practice-related topics such as developments on cookies or on a new handout on the data protection-compliant use of video conferencing systems, as well as on the increasing trend of referral proceedings before the ECJ or the latest Swiss case law in labor and data protection law. Of course, news about Schrems II was also included. Of particular relevance to companies and appointed data protection officers was an investigation by the data protection authority in Luxembourg. The authority came to the conclusion that the GDPR is not being complied with in some cases. This presentation was also interesting against the background that it was about an implementation of the European provisions, so that this can also be transferred to Liechtenstein or other countries. Among other presentations, the University of Liechtenstein reported on the ransomware attack and its consequences this summer. The 4th training seminar will take place on 01 December 2022.
