Jun 28, 2023

On 22 June 2023, the 5th meeting of Data Protection Officers in the healthcare sector, organised by the Czech Data Protection Association, took place in Jindřichův Hradec.
The event focused on the current interpretation of widely discussed topics in the field of personal data protection, such as the right of the data subject to access his or her personal data under Article 15 of the GDPR, health data sharing and the upcoming changes introduced by the EHDS Regulation, the deployment of camera systems in light of the methodology of the Office of the Data Protection Office, the audit activities of DPOs in hospitals or risk analysis.
Participants evaluated the event as a success as it allowed DPOs not only to gain new information and discuss with experts in the field of GDPR, but also to share their practical experience with the implementation of GDPR in the healthcare sector and, last but not least, to meet new colleagues in the area of data protection.
The event hosted a number of leading experts on GDPR from the healthcare sector. Radek Knop, DPO of Motol Hospital in Prague, spoke about the right of access and CCTV systems, while Zuzana Ondrůjová, DPO of St. Anne’s University Hospital in Brno, focused on the European Health Data Space Regulation. DPO of South Bohemian hospitals Ondřel Lešetický dealt with audit activities of DPOs and Luděk Nezmar from Acresia Company prepared a practical demonstration of risk analysis.
The event was held under the auspices of the town of Jindřichův Hradec. The partners of the event were the University of Economics and Business in Prague and Hospital Jindřichův Hradec.
