In the Czech Republic, the Electronic Communications Act was amended with effect from 1 January 2022. This change introduced the opt-in principle for cookies and other similar network identifiers, which corresponds to the text of the ePrivacy Directive. Following this, on 15 December 2021 the Czech Data Protection Association issued a comprehensive opinion on the application of cookies following this amendment. The opinion is available here (in Czech). Subsequently, the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection issued a FAQ on this topic on 22.12.2021.
